(Philippine Youth Representatives to 2008 Korea-ASEAN Youth Exchange, February 2008)

Vividly, I recall how excited I was to represent the country and to experience the snow for the first time. I was excited about going out of the country, but I was more excited about the rare opportunity to bring the name of the Philippines to the International arena.

I don’t have any recollection of preparation for the winter season in South Korea. And the trip being my first, I didn’t know what to expect. After 10 days, my beautiful lips looked like it got sucked by a scary lip monster! It was dry, red, cracked, and painful.  Oh, how naive I was then~ Isn’t that given though for a first-time traveler?

Why am I even writing about this?

It’s February and I will never forget how this trip changed my life’s perspective, and open a new world of opportunity. I experienced many firsts during this trip, and I couldn’t help but smile. I think that’s why South Korea has such a deeply rooted part in my heart. So huge, that I am visiting the country again this year!!! Yeyyyyyy~~ ^_____^

Okay, enough about my experience. I just honestly want to share the importance of Lip Balm during winter. hahahahah!

Believe it or not, every time I buy a lip balm, I always go back to the time I spent in South Korea. As much as I wanted to turn back time and correct the mistake I did, I know I am not able to do that. I had learned to embrace that embarrassing aspect of my life to something memorable.

Anyway, if you’re traveling during the cold season, please don’t be like me~ save yourself from the embarrassment and pain of getting extremely dry lips.

BUY YOURSELF A LIP BALM!
