Hello Everyone!
Greetings of Good Tidings and Health!
As we reflect on the remarkable year of 2024, we find ourselves seeking a way to convey its essence—a year that deserves more than just a brief narrative but can be beautifully summarized in one meaningful word: THANKFUL.
January was Papa’s arrival to the land flowing with milk and honey. He was welcomed with record breaking cold Chicago weather (-10F’). Got stuck in the tarmac for 3 hours and another 3 hours as he waited for his luggage— But that seemingly long wait warmed up our heart as we finally saw him got out of the busy airport. I don’t think he actually told friends and family back home that he’s staying here for awhile.
His short stay in Illinois gave me a deeper understanding of Papa, as he one day shared to us and said, “I am not stress here. I don’t have to constantly watch my back, thinking I could be the next target from those with ill intentions.”
The Reunion
In the months that followed, our lives became a whirlwind of joyful reunions! First, Tita Eden arrived, bringing warmth and laughter with her. Then came my sister Heddah, along with her husband Ryan, adding their own spark to the gatherings. The Quijano family, who were visiting after attending a wedding in North Carolina also came to Chicago! Their stories and experiences brought an exciting touch to our time together.
As each gathering unfolded, we embarked on various escapades throughout the city of Chicago and its neighboring states. From exploring local attractions to enjoying delicious meals at hidden gems, every adventure was filled with laughter and shared memories. It was a beautifully chaotic time, brimming with love, connection, and the spirit of togetherness.
ADVENTURES AND MISADVENTURES
We also went to Destin and Pensacola Florida— stopped by Kentucky and then Nashville, Tennessee on our way back! We took the time to spend time with family on special occasions! Had hearty meal and intimate gatherings.
NEW BEGINNINGS.

We enthusiastically embrace the newest addition to the Quijano Family! First, Sunday, Hubert’s wife! Now, we celebrate Jilliana Emmanuelle, their beautiful daughter! As our family grows, we lift our prayers for good health and long life for each member. May we create even more beautiful memories together and cherish the wonderful moments we share. Here’s to future reunions and gatherings—whether intimate or lively, each one is embraced with joy and excitement!
Andrew embarked on our leather goods business with passion and creativity, completing special commissions for friends and family, who we deeply appreciate! As we step into the upcoming year, we embrace the exciting journey of “craft shows” and “market places” with optimism, believing that our products can leave a lasting impact. One day, Kaius Handmade Leather goods will carve its own legacy in history.
We welcome the year 2025 with much anticipation coupled with prayers of hope, good health, and success to new endeavors!
